FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

EL CENTRO, Calif. — Maintenance Construction crews will reduce northbound and southbound State Route 111 (SR-111) to one lane between West Rutherford and Baughman roads located north of the city of Brawley beginning Thursday at 8 p.m. through Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 8 p.m. according to Caltrans. The five-day closure is needed for culvert repairs that will require digging beneath the roadway.

Highway workers with flags will be in place to direct SR-111 motorists one direction at a time onto the single open lane.

Although traffic volumes are generally low in this location, motorists may experience delays up to 10 minutes depending on traffic queues and are advised to allow additional travel time to reach their destinations.

Please be Work Zone Alert if traveling in the area and watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment.

The construction schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, traffic incidents or other construction related reasons
