MINUTES October 3, 2018

1. Mr. Ceasar called the meeting to order at 10:08 a.m. A quorum was present. Introductions were
made.
2. Minutes adopted for September 5, 2018 (Ceaser, Hack), Motion Carried.
3. CTSA Reports:
Mr. Aguirre had the following updates:
- There have been difficulties maintaining IVT MedTrans in the past 3 years. Public hearing for IVT MedTrans fare increase will be held on October 24, 2018 at the Board of Supervisor Board Chambers, 940 West Main Street, El Centro, CA 92243, at 6:00 p.m.. Information will be emailed to SSTAC members.
- ICTC will implement the fare that impacts the public less.
- The fare increase chosen on the 24th of October, will be temporary, until the fare study is conducted for the entire IVT system.
- ICTC will be integrating mobile ticketing, which will begin in a couple of months. It will run BETA for IVC students only, for the time being. They will have the ability to purchase and use their tickets electronically. ICTC is at the end of the negotiation with the contract.
4. Mr. Aguirre provided Transit 101 PowerPoint presentation; overview of transit services, capacities, fleet make up and statistics. Included the following services:
o IVT
o Green Line
o Blue Line
o Gold Line
o IVT Access
o IVT RIDE
o IVT MedTrans
o MV1
- A tour of all transit buses was given after PowerPoint and transportation was provided from the
administration building to parking lot E at Imperial Valley College.
5. General Discussion
- Mr. Aguirre encouraged SSTAC members to attend next meeting in November.
o Mr. Ceaser informed SSTAC members that a PowerPoint was not necessary.
- Ms. Garcia asked information on Ocotillo route. She mentioned that PCA’s need transportation to Ocotillo.
o Mr. Aguirre informed her that transportation to Ocotillo is based on demand, the deviation route goes from Seeley to Ocotillo on Tuesdays. Passengers can call dispatch to request transportation to or from Ocotillo. If there is a need for transportation, she can reach out to ICTC to make certain arrangements.
o Mr. Ceasar advised that any data that supports a missed service area, could support future Unmet Transportation Needs in the area
o Ms. Garcia stated that her comments were based on a few isolated incidents and would monitor if other requests for the Ocotillo area are noted in the future.
- Mr. Ceasar asked about the Short-Range Transportation Plan (SRTP).
o Mr. Aguirre stated that the SRTP will be presented to the Commission on November 28, 2018.
o Next STACC meeting ICTC will be reviewing more information on the SRTP.
- Mr. Torres announced that IVC is looking into applying to an additional grant for transportation needs of students. Mr. Torres requested some data from Mr. Aguirre for the benefit of the grant process. Mr. Torres stated that a transportation survey is going to be conducted.
o Mr. Aguirre asked Mr. Torres to contact him to provide him the appropriate data he requires.
- Mr. Torres stated that new college hours were emailed to Mr. Aguirre.
